Installation Guide
This guide covers how to install StockWise and what permissions are required.
Installing from Shopify App Store
- Log in to your Shopify admin panel
- Navigate to Apps in the sidebar
- Click Shopify App Store
- Search for "StockWise"
- Click Add app
- Review the permissions request
- Click Install app
Required Permissions
StockWise requires the following permissions to function:
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Read products | Access your product catalog and variants |
| Read inventory | Track current stock levels |
| Read orders | Analyze historical sales for forecasting |
| Read locations | Support multi-location inventory |
Privacy Note: StockWise only reads data necessary for inventory forecasting. We never modify your products, orders, or inventory.
After Installation
Once installed, StockWise will:
- Redirect you to the onboarding wizard
- Guide you through initial configuration
- Begin syncing your data
The entire setup process takes approximately 5 minutes.
Uninstalling StockWise
If you need to uninstall:
- Go to Apps in your Shopify admin
- Find StockWise in your installed apps
- Click the ... menu
- Select Uninstall
When you uninstall, StockWise will delete all your data from our servers in compliance with GDPR requirements.
Reinstalling
If you reinstall StockWise after uninstalling:
- You'll need to complete onboarding again
- Historical forecast data will not be recovered
- New forecasts will be generated based on your current order history
