When you first install StockWise, you'll be guided through a 6-step onboarding process. This ensures your account is properly configured for accurate inventory forecasting.
The Onboarding Steps

Step 1: Welcome
The welcome screen introduces StockWise and its key benefits:
- Demand forecasting
- Low stock alerts
- Inventory optimization
Click Continue to proceed.
Step 2: Store Connection
StockWise reads your store information from Shopify:
- Store name
- Email address
- Time zone
- Currency
Review and confirm your details. Update your email if needed—this is where you'll receive notifications.

Step 3: Business Configuration
Configure parameters that affect inventory calculations:
- Business type and size
- Primary product category
- Safety stock preferences
- Lead time defaults
These settings help StockWise tailor recommendations to your business.

Step 4: Data Synchronization
StockWise imports your:
- Product catalog
- Current inventory levels
- Historical order data
A progress indicator shows sync status. This typically takes 2-5 minutes.
Step 5: Initial Forecast
Generate your first inventory forecasts:
- Click Generate Forecast
- Wait for processing to complete
- Review initial predictions
This step activates your forecasting engine.

Step 6: Completion
Setup complete! You're now ready to:
- Explore the dashboard
- Set up notifications
- Dive into variant details
Resuming Onboarding
If you exit during onboarding:
- Your progress is saved automatically
- Return to the app to continue where you left off
- No need to restart from the beginning
After Onboarding
Once complete, you'll have access to:
- Full inventory dashboard
- Notification settings
- Per-product configurations
