Setting Up Notifications

This guide walks you through creating effective notification alerts to stay informed about your inventory status.

Before You Begin

Ensure you have:

  • At least one email recipient configured
  • Decided on your notification frequency
  • Identified which alerts you need

Creating Your First Notification

Step 1: Access Notifications Page

Navigate to Notifications from the app menu.

Step 2: Click Add Notification

Click the Add notification button in the top right.

Step 3: Configure Basic Settings

Notification Name

Choose a descriptive name:

  • ✅ "Daily Low Stock Alert"
  • ✅ "Weekly Inventory Summary"
  • ❌ "Alert 1"

Alert Type

Select frequency:

  • Daily: Every day at specified time
  • Weekly: Selected days of the week
  • Monthly: Selected days of the month

Alert Time

Choose when to receive the notification. Consider:

  • Start of business day
  • Before ordering cutoffs
  • When you'll have time to act

Step 4: Select Schedule (Weekly/Monthly)

For Weekly Alerts

Select which days to receive notifications:

  • Monday-Friday for business week coverage
  • Specific days for ordering cycles

For Monthly Alerts

Select which days of the month:

  • Common choices: 1st, 15th
  • Align with accounting cycles
  • Before month-end inventory counts

Step 5: Choose Recipients

Select who receives this notification:

  • Click the recipient dropdown
  • Check all relevant recipients
  • Add new recipients if needed

Step 6: Set Status

Choose Active to enable immediately, or Inactive to configure now and activate later.

Step 7: Save

Click Create to save your notification.

Consider multiple notifications for different purposes:

Testing Your Notification

After creating a notification:

  1. Wait for the scheduled time
  2. Check your email inbox (and spam folder)
  3. Verify content is useful
  4. Adjust settings if needed

Modifying Notifications

Editing

  1. Click on the notification name
  2. Make changes
  3. Save updates

Bulk Status Changes

  1. Select multiple notifications
  2. Use Set as active or Set as inactive

Deleting

  1. Select notifications
  2. Click Delete notifications
  3. Confirm deletion

Troubleshooting

Not receiving emails

  1. Check spam/junk folder
  2. Verify email address is correct
  3. Confirm notification is Active
  4. Check scheduled time has passed

Wrong time received

  • Verify time zone in App Settings
  • Confirm selected alert time

Too many/few alerts

  • Adjust frequency (daily → weekly)
  • Consolidate multiple notifications
  • Add/remove recipients as needed
